Lunch is OFF (cos you’re an asshole)
So I was supposed to go out with this guy for lunch today. And I’ve decided not to. I’ve also decided not to tell him. I’m just not going to go online today. At least that’s what he will think. Of course I’m online, I’m online ALL the time. I’m just not online for him.
I’ve decided that he’s so not worth my time. The other day I was talking to him and I was explaining that I work where I live, and he said ‘lame’. And then we were talking about working and stuff, and he already knew I was going to work in the public sector and I dunno how it came up but I said I worked for one particular department over summer as an internship. Response? "fuck that"
So I had him up about it, ranted for a bit about how fucking rude it is to say shit like that. Implying that the choices I have made are stupid ones. If I thought my job was lame, I wouldn’t be doing it, but I don’t, and it’s a fucking good way of having my bills paid so that I can actually study. Without this job I couldn’t be in this city, studying what I’m studying and getting myself ahead in life. It’s a good job to have, pays the bills, I don’t even see the bills! They are just paid for me. Plus it looks WAY better on my CV than worked at McDonalds or a supermarket the whole way through uni, or even worse, that I didn’t work at all.
Same thing with the internship, work for a government department or work in a factory, which one is going to be better for me long term? Sure the department I worked in is not in any way suitable for the career I want, but at least I went there and found that out. I gained some invaluable experience there, which I used straight away in my first semester of Uni for the year.
Dunno why I’m justifying this to you all, I’m sure you agree with me! But anyways, just cos that’s the sort of wanker he obviously is, I’m gonna skip the lunch. I’m just sooooo glad he doesn’t have my cellphone number!! haha that would be bad.
Anyways, I’m off to study at Gloria Jeans, I’m hoping there’s not too many ppl and I can get a comfy seat. If not, maybe I’ll have to check out Starbucks *shudder*. They actually charge you for whipped cream there, can you believe that?! They say, all polite like they are just checking whether or not you want it: ‘would you like whipped cream on that?’ but what they don’t say is: ‘would you like whipped cream for an extra 60c on that?’ I hate whipped cream, so I don’t really care either way, but at GJ’s, the cream is free, it’s an option, not an overpriced ploy to boost the profits of a ridiculously rich multi-national corporation.

Sounds like you made the right call. I kind stand ppl who think they are ‘above’ someone or something. I do not have time for those types.

I hate when people offer things and they aren’t free and don’t bother telling you. BUGS. Gloria Jean’s coffee tastes much better anyway. And you already know I think you made the right choice with the guy. He sounds like an ass.

Thanks for visiting my blog and submitting your link! I hear you on the whipped cream thing. The other day my mom was out for a sundae and they asked her if she wanted nuts on that and she said yes. Turns out the nuts cost 50 cents extra. But they didn’t tell her. What a rip!
